Our Starts & Turns Clinic offers a unique and exciting opportunity for competitive swimmers to elevate their performance by mastering essential starts and turns techniques.
This clinic is led by Double Olympian, World and European medallist, and Ex-British and European record holder Edward Sinclair, bringing world-class expertise to every session.
What to Expect:
Focused Training with emphasis on technique development for starts and turns, including:
- Stroke-specific turns:
- Turns on all strokes - Flip Turns and Open Turns
- Approach and Timing
- Push-Off
- Transition
- Turn drills
- Starts - including backstroke start:
- Start position
- Flight phase
- Entry phase
- Underwater phase
- Breakout phase (all 4 strokes)
- Start drills
- Reaction drills
Day schedule:
- 9.40 Registration
- Welcome & Introduction
- Land warm up
- Pool session (100 mins)
- Lunch break - packed lunch from home
- Starts & Turns Workshop
- Warm up
- Pool session (90 mins)
- Debrief
- 15.20 Home
Suitable for:
Club swimmers aged 9 - 16:
Competitive up to the national level
Swimmers will be allocated into focused training groups according to their age and ability
